so as i pack up my life to move along to buffalo. there is the inevitable stumbling block in packing when you find an item or items you neither wish to keep nor wish to throw away. trophies and metals....
childhood accomplishments.... as represented in crappy plastic and medal chatchkies. as my mom and i stand in front of about 80 figure skating medals and a bunch of dusty hockey trophies, we both wonder...
what do we do with them?
donate them?
throw them out?
hide them in the attic/basement for a while and deal with them later?
use them as lawn ornaments?
cover ourselves in medals and play the michael phelps impersonation game?
any suggestions?

Good luck in your travels to Buffalo! Keep us looped in to how it goes--transitions are super duper fun...but also trying and scary at times too.
Regarding the medals...I say you melt them down and create a life-size Gilgamesh statue- chicken wing arm and all- but that's just me
Aw M'Lady! It is still hard to believe that you are moving! (but very exciting)
I say keep the awards. It may seem pointless, but...it can't hurt. Maybe I am just a packrat when it comes to those things... I finally just gave away 3 pairs of Abercrombie khakis size 0. When the hell was I a 0 in Abercrombie, and why did I still have them in my dresser?
Can't wait to see you in less than 2 weeks!!!
